Hong Kong Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival 2022

Being absent for two years after Covid Pandemic the annual HKDBF was successfully held at Lake Lanier, despite forecast of rain and unpleasant condition. We had about 60 teams competing for the glory and fun! 2022 also marked the 25th Anniversary of the HKDBF held in Atlanta, coinciding with the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR. As it was the case the last 25 years, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office New York continues it strong funding and support of our event, the biggest in the Southeast USA that promotes diversity and inclusion. The Festival also showcases major Asian cultures via performance during noon. Candy Nip, Director of HKETO NYC, and her Deputy Director Erica Lam were our VIP guests. The crowd enjoyed the brief remark from Candy, Gene Hanratty, and Tracy Barth. Daphne Huang of Delta Airlines, our Gold sponsor also made her remark during the celebration. About 6,000 plus spectators reacted cheerfully to our excellent Emcee Vince Bailey, the lion dance, and various performances from Asian groups. A big thanks to our sponsors, Tracy and her team, and volunteers for making this year another great and memorable event.

On Friday, the night before the Festival, HKAA hosted a VIP “Meet and Greet Director Candy Nip” for our Partners to enjoy a wonderful dinner and networking at Canton House. VIP guests include partners and sponsors from GDED, MAC, TAG, ATDC, Alpharetta Chamber, Alpharetta Economic Development, Gwinnett Chamber, Decide DeKalb, Carter Center, GSU, NACA, MBM International, Morgan Stanley, Smith Gambrell & Russell, Landmark Realty, and VistaRay USA Inc. HKAA Board members in attendance included Denise Lo, Charlene Fang, Chris Chan and Henry Yu.
